Just wanted to update this site and hopefully be able to keep up with it. Along with the blog I have kept for over 14 years.
I will post more soon but here is a recent photo. Just to show you how much I have changed since the first photos I posted.

I was having problems with walking due to my legs. I have lymphatic deposits on both legs with my right leg being much larger than the other.
I was scheduled to have the mass of fat and skin removed on the fourth, but I got a call today that the Surgery Center in Cookeville would not perform the procedure because of:
- My body mass index
- My history of Asthma and Pickwickian Syndrome (or also known as Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS) )
- My history of type II Diabetes
The nurse told me that there had been a issue with my weight all along, but I just thought why didn’t someone tell me that might be a factor??
Anyway, she said that Dr. Guiliary is out of the office until next Monday (he is currently out of the country) and they will have to call me on Tuesday or later to set up a new appointment. Thing is I have to have the surgery done at CRMC and I don’t know all the in’s and out’s of setting something like that up. Will I be just having ONE leg done at a time like we had talked or will I have to have BOTH done at the same time if we do it at the hospital???
All I can do is pray and thank God for His blessings, that His will be done in ALL things, and just wait patiently until I get the surgery.
I have to return to my Lap Band Surgeon tomorrow. I haven’t lost that much the last month. I have had a month and over to drop considerable weight but I just cannot hit below 329. I did get that far. We shall see what I weigh in at tomorrow.
God bless you all,
Tina

Wow, what can I say. I met with my plastic surgeon and he was outstanding!
He is younger than what I thought he would be, but very considerate and very professional.
He looked at my legs and was just floored at the amount of tissue still on them and determined that I did indeed need to have surgery to remove it.
He took photos and then his nurse came in and told me that I would have to sign a waiver saying that if Medicare didn’t cover the surgery (because they cannot pre-certify the procedure) that I would have to pay all the costs.
I looked at her like she had three heads and said “Well, if I had that kind of money I could have it done today. I just don’t have it to spend on this or I would have already had this surgery.”
She said she would call me back the next day most likely since the anesthesiologist couldn’t get their computers up to make an appointment for me to go over and talk with them.
The insurance lady called back that afternoon, and told me that Medicare WOULD pay for the surgery. That it was a covered procedure and that even though I would have to sign the waiver to pay if they didn’t, she didn’t see a problem with getting it paid for.
I had prayed before going that God’s will be done in all things, that if it was meant to be He would provide, and provide He did.
So, February 4, 2009 I will be having the first of two surgeries on my legs.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers!!!!

I went back to my doctor’s office on the second, and I have lost down to 336 and that is 16 pounds down since my last visit.
I recieved .6 cc’s of fluid into my lap band to bring me up to 11.8 total cc’s of fluid.
my nurse said that more than likely I will not need another fill after this one.
I will see my surgeon on January 27th for my six month post op visit.
Here are some photos I took on the second.

Well, I took my niece, Rebain, (a nickname that is sure to change within the week haha) to see Twilight and it was an experience. I hadn’t been to the movies in over 5 or 6 years. It was wonderful until the pivotal scene between Edward and Bella and the entire theatre erupted into screaming teens!! It was definitely something I won’t soon forget.
We went out to eat afterward to Olive Garden.
The food was wonderful but I am still struggling with eating. I can still eat more than a half of a cup of food and I just feel like I am never going to get adjusted.
Dr. Morton (at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN) did a fantastic job, placing a 14cc band around my stomach. I am at 11cc’s filled so far and am still not quite there. I am hoping my visit on the second of December I will get the final fill.
The band is a great tool. It is just hard sometimes to get your head wrapped around that your stomach is so small. You’re eyes and head tell you that you need large quantities of food, and when you eat what you can then your satiation isn’t met at times. It is called head hunger and I am having a horrible time of it right now.
I know that I have to be careful. I just thank God each day for the tool to help teach me to make better choices.
Well, I guess that is it for me for now. Hugs to you all.

You know, I haven’t really talked much about what I am doing to help myself lose weight.
I joined the local YMCA in February of this year and it has been amazing. You can meet all kinds of great people and one girl in particular is very special to me.
Her name is Kendall and she helps out in the weight room/gym.
She is a trainer and has told me that she will help in any way she can to keep me motivated and doing safe things to help get better.
Sometimes we take people for granted in our every-day lives, but I just wanted her to know that I think she is the best of the entire bunch and I really do appreciate her for all her kindness and support.
SO if you need a trainer and want a great place to work out with exceptional staff, the YMCA in Cookeville is definitely the place to go!!!!
